Lindam Baby Talk Audio Visual MonitorWe found the lullaby option to be very useful. The portable unit was light and easy to carry around and the belt clip came in really handy enabling other jobs to be done at the same time as monitoring the baby. Sometimes the sound option wasn’t the most reliable so it would pay to check the range in your particular house as of course all houses have different layouts which of course means the monitor has a different range in each house. Overall though this was a nice piece of kit and works well for us.

Binatone BM500 Video Baby MonitorWe needed a video baby monitor so we could easier keep an eye on our Daughter who is seven years old but has special needs.  We already have Binatone Cordless phones at home and we’re happy with them so we thought we were on to a good thing with this monitor. We like the fact that this monitor system is not designed to be overly “babyish” and it looks quite at home in an older child’s or adult’s room. The quality of the performance is outstanding and we have had no problems at all. The screen is crystal clear and sound quality couldn’t be any better.

The room where the camera is can be pitch dark so that a person wouldn’t be able to even see the bed but the monitor in the living room (or any other room) can see every detail. We are over the moon with this system and highly recommend it. A thoughtful feature is the temperature monitor which assures you that the temperature in the room is always satisfactory. The lullaby feature is also a very good idea although we don’t use it as of course our daughter is a little beyond lullabies but for people with young babies it would be great!

Summer-Infant-Digital-Handheld-Colour-Video-MonitorFor parents of young children and babies then a baby video monitor is pretty much an essential purchase. We bought this one three months ago and to be honest it’s been ok. It’s very easy to use and practically plug and play to setup (we’re not techies) so we were working with it straight out of the box. There are only 3 channels to choose from and so far this hasn’t given us any problems but there again we aren’t very advanced in our house and there are no other wireless products to cause interference.

The picture at night seems to be in black and white and does get a bit grainy depending on where else you are in the house with the receiver. It does come with a rechargeable battery and the charge does seem to last through the night with no problems.

Overall we have no real complaints. It gives us a feeling of security that should anything go seriously wrong with our baby when we aren’t in the same room we can now respond virtually instantly. This is very good for the peace of mind you need if you’re going to get any sleep.

Lindam Clarity Digital Video MonitorThis model was improved in July 2009. Prior to that it had some audio problems. The picture quality is fine and the sound problems seem to have been sorted out. Unfortunately the night vision wasn’t up to what we had expected and to be honest we have seen better for very similar money.

It only improved somewhat when we had the light in the room on which rather defeats the object. Another thing that didn’t impress us was there is no strap or belt clip for the monitor which is pretty essential if you want to do household chores etc during the day whilst your baby’s sleeping.

Positioning of the camera was also tricky and the little wire they provided was really inadequate to be honest. The lullaby function was quite nice to it need to have a volume function as the one setting for this is pretty loud and would probably hinder the baby from trying to get to sleep. I have to admit we returned this unit and got a better Safety 1st camera and monitor.

Summer Infant Complete Coverage Color Video Monitor Set with 7" LCD Screen and 1.8" Handheld UnitWe have a handicapped son with many complex medical issues so we are frequent buyers of this type of video monitor device. After setting it up we were pleasantly surprised be the sound and picture quality. The large LCD display unit we keep static in our bedroom so we can monitor him at night. It’s across the room from our bed so the larger screen is really handy and gives us a clear picture of our son all night.

The portable unit is the one that travels around our house and comes equipped with a rechargeable battery which seems to have a very good charge retention. There is sometimes a little static but it’s easy to resolve this by just moving the monitor slightly. The baby video monitor seems unaffected by the wireless router and cordless phones in the house so that was a relief to be honest. If you want to you can hook up the hand-held device to your TV which is very convenient in the evening.

You just change the TV channel for an instant large picture of your baby or child. If you want to you can also have the option of sound, picture, or BOTH which is very handy sometimes.

Summer Infant Day & Night Flat Screen Color Video Monitor with 7" LCD Screen

We are extremely pleased with the monitor. It is much better than we expected it to be. You might find the odd place in your home where the reception isn’t as good as you’d like but if you just move it a little sometimes you can get a decent picture just about anywhere. We actually use tape to secure the camera as it saves having to use screws and damage the crib..

There is some interference with the wireless phone we have but most of the time you’re not on the phone so its fine 95% of the time. We have two little girls and we found we can have the camera up to 10 feet away from our babies for a wider picture and the quality is unaffected. This will be very handy as the babies grow and start to move around more.

Apart from the slight interference problem when using the phone overall this baby video monitor works very well and we are glad we purchased this particular monitor.

NScessity: Digital 1.8" LCD Wireless Camera MonitorThis is a very good system. I found it very easy to set up and use. There havevn’t been any problems with interference although our house must have more wireless signals in it than Vodafone’s head office. The sleep mode is very good indeed because it allows the camera to “sleep” whilst all is quiet but then activate itself if the baby makes a noise.

The design of the monitor and camera is modern and clean and the only possible fault I could find with it was that it could have a slightly bigger screen. The picture quality was very good but just a bit on the small side. On the whole yes we have already recommended this to friends and they have bought it as well and are also very happy with it.
