We didn’t have much knowledge on these monitors so anyway we started of with the Summer Infant Color Video Monitor (Hand Held) 02100A with a 2.5 inch screen last year.. The bad news was there were only two channels to choose from and both of them had quite a bit of interference and we were constantly having to re-position the receiver to get the picture and audio clearer. The security on this monitor was very poor too. I think it’s probably not digital so we cold actually see two other babies in our neighborhood and this was a bit disconcerting so we ended up returning this system.
The Secure Sounds Digital which we bought next advertises NO interference and I’m delighted to say we have found this to be the case. There is no static or hum with this monitor (and I can’t tell you how annoying that can be when you’re trying to sleep at night!) and we can actually still get a good video and audio signal as far as a block away from our house! The screen is slightly smaller than the original but the picture is nice and crisp so it’s not a problem. You wouldn’t exactly say it’s “HD” quality but you can clearly see all the detail even at night when it’s purely black and white. Even during the day the colors are a bit faded but that’s not a problem for us. The only thing that matters is we can see and heard our baby very clearly from anywhere in the house.
The crib soother is a nice addition and you have several different noise options varying from 3 lullabies, a couple of nature sounds and even a couple of different vibrations which we have found to be VERY effective.

As kids get older, video monitors can help parents keep an eye on their kids from another room. Parents can feel comfortable working around the house because they can still watch their children playing. Children will like the responsibility of playing on their own, too. Video monitors make this possible.

Great post! I am just starting out in community management/marketing media and trying to learn how to do it well – resources like this article are incredibly helpful. As our company is based in the US, it?s all a bit new to us. The example above is something that I worry about as well, how to show your own genuine enthusiasm and share the fact that your product is useful in that case.
